Practical, Performance and Theory Exams
Lessons are structured around achieving the required standard for grade exams. During lessons scales, theory, sight-reading and general musicanship will be covered, whether the student is planning on taking exams or not. All these skills are vital for musicians.
Lessons are not all focused around exams (as that is not always fun) and I aim to cover all styles including classical, jazz and blues.
Lessons are 30 minutes weekly during term time, although for more advanced players 1hr lessons fortnightly can be arranged.
I work hard for my students and expect the same in return. I expect students to practice for a minimum period each day and during the holidays. If practise is not kept up progress is slow because the lip muscles do not maintain their strength. I ask a lot from my students, but give my students a lot in return.
